Privacy Policy
The short version
OpenRydr is being built privacy-first. We collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. This policy describes what we collect today — which is just your email address if you sign up to be notified when the app launches.
The app itself is still in development. When the app ships and starts handling things like ride data, location, and payments, we'll update this policy and notify everyone on the email list before any of that data is collected.
What we collect right now
At this time, OpenRydr only collects information you voluntarily submit through the email signup form on this website:
- Email address. Used solely to send you a notification when the OpenRydr app launches, and occasional updates about the project if you opt in.
- Signup source. A short label (e.g. coming_soon) recording which page on our website you signed up from. Used internally to understand where interest is coming from.
- Timestamp. The date and time you signed up.
We do not currently collect names, locations, IP addresses for tracking, device identifiers, cookies for analytics, or any other personal information.
How we store it
Email signups are stored in a private database hosted by Supabase, an industry-standard backend provider. Access is restricted to OpenRydr maintainers. The database is hosted in the United States.
How we use it
We use your email address only to:
- Notify you when the OpenRydr app is available to download.
- Send occasional updates about the project's progress, if you opt in.
We will not use your email for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your email address. Ever. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.
Your email is processed by the following service providers, strictly to operate the signup feature:
- Supabase — database hosting. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
- Vercel — website hosting. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not embed third-party tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or social media trackers. Vercel may set strictly necessary cookies required to operate the site; no analytics or advertising cookies are used.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from the list immediately.
- Request a copy of your data. Email us at privacy@openrydr.comand we'll send you everything we have, which is just your email address, source, and signup timestamp.
- Request deletion. Email us at privacy@openrydr.comand we'll permanently delete your record from our database, usually within a few business days.
These rights apply regardless of where you live. We honor data access and deletion requests from all users globally.
Children
OpenRydr is intended for adult motorcyclists. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted an email through our form, contact us and we'll delete the record immediately.
Changes to this policy
As OpenRydr develops and the app launches, this policy will be updated to reflect new data practices (ride data, account information, payments, etc.). When we make material changes, we'll notify everyone on the email list before the changes take effect, and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
