Riders mark the roads worth riding. Rating roads and contributing ride data is free on every tier.
Rate the roads you ride
Mark a stretch of a finished ride Good or Must-ride, with tags like twisty or scenic and an optional note.
Something wrong with a road? Report it as a problem instead. A person reviews every report.
Free to contribute
Rating roads and sharing ride data never needs a subscription. It works the same on Free, Rydr and Premium.
Be a founding contributor
The map is just getting started. Rate the roads you know and help build the map of where the best riding is.
Ratings you can stand behind
A rating counts only once we've checked you actually rode that road, and each rider counts once per road.
Ratings are linked to your account so we can run that check. Change or delete yours any time.
Anonymous ride data (opt-in)
Off by default. Turn it on and finished rides are sent without your account.
The first and last ~500 m are cut off before sending. Our server matches the trace to roads, keeps only per-road totals, and discards the trace.

Every ride, captured. Real stats, real history, real privacy.
Real-time stats
Speed, distance, duration, elevation — visible during the ride on a glanceable HUD.
Background GPS
Recording continues when the screen turns off. No gaps in your track.
Pause & Resume
Pause by hand at a gas stop, or let auto-pause (on by default) pause the recording about 15 seconds after you stop.
Time tracking
Separates time moving, time stopped, and time paused. Actual ride time, not clock time.
Photo attachment
Attach photos to a ride at the point where you stopped to take them. Pinned to the route trace.
Visibility control
Private by default. Make a ride friends-only or public, and a share link exists only once you share it.
During the closed beta, testers' rides default to public so we can test Discover. You can turn that off in the app's privacy settings.
GPX & KML export
Export any ride as GPX or KML and open it in Google Earth, most GPS devices, or other mapping apps.
PDF map exportRydr
Generate a printable PDF of your ride with key stats. Good for trip planning or sharing with non-riders.
Elevation chart
Completed rides show an elevation profile across the route. See where the hills were.
Ride history sync
Every ride stays on your phone, uncapped on every tier, and backs up to your account automatically.
On Free, private rides keep their full-detail GPS track and photos in the cloud for 20 days; after that the ride, its stats and its map preview stay backed up. Rydr and Premium keep everything.
Auto-Capture
Forgot to hit record? Auto-Capture notices you're riding and offers to save the trip when you stop.
Ride replay
Play any ride back as an animation that traces your route.
Group Riding
PremiumFirst-class group features for real-world group rides.
Shared destination
Leader sets a destination; everyone routes there their own way, so everyone's navigation still works.
Real-time positions
See every rider on one shared map as they move.
If someone loses signal, their marker stays where they were last heard from and fades to grey, so you can tell live from stale.
Auto-regroup
App detects when the group has spread too far and alerts the leader. No more wondering if someone's behind.
Where's the Group
One tap zooms the map to fit every rider; tap again to go back to following you.
Group chat
In-ride and pre-ride chat. Persistent history so latecomers can see the plan.
Trouble alerts
One tap to broadcast — mechanical issue alert. Group knows without a phone call.
Crash detection integration
If a member's crash detection fires during a group ride, the group sees the alert.
Wait mode
The leader sees who's caught up and who's more than a mile away, and can pause the whole group.

Crash detection
If you don't respond within 30 seconds of a detected crash, your emergency contacts get an alert with your location.
It looks for sudden deceleration and impact patterns consistent with a crash.
Safety SMS
With Safety SMS on, starting a ride opens your messages app with your note and live tracking link filled in.
You tap Send. Your contact doesn't need the app.
Customizable templates
Write your own message. Change the tone, add context, set different messages for different contacts.
Per-contact assignment
Assign specific templates to specific contacts. Your spouse gets a different message than your riding buddy.
Live tracking link
Generates a web link your contact can open in any browser to see your position in real time.
Arrival check-in
When a ride you shared with your safety contacts ends, those who use OpenRydr get a notification.
You can also turn on an arrival text in Settings → Safety & Crash: when the ride ends, OpenRydr asks first, then opens your messages app so you can send it.

One-tap emergency call
Dial local emergency services in a tap — 911, 112, or your country's number, detected automatically.
All-clear reminders
If a crash alert was a false alarm, OpenRydr reminds you to send an all-clear so your contacts aren't left worrying.
Emergency info card
Keep your blood type, allergies, conditions and medications in the app, and choose when they're shared.
Share them with your group-trip crew, or with your group if you call Trouble.
Weather
Know what the sky is doing before and during the ride — powered by NOAA / NWS. US only for now.

National Weather Service warnings for where you are, right on the map. Free, because it's safety.
Ice & heat warnings
NWS ice and heat-risk flags for the route you pick, and for the road ahead while you ride. Free on every tier.
Weather radar overlayRydr
Live precipitation radar as a map overlay, so you see the cell before you ride into it.

During navigation, OpenRydr calls out weather on your route — "rain in ~18 miles, around 4:20 PM."

Anonymous ride data is opt-in and off by default: sent without your account, matched to roads, then discarded.
Road ratings are separate and linked to your account; we store the roads you rated, not your GPS trace.

Place up to 12 circles (80 m to 2 km). GPS points inside are removed before a ride is backed up or shared.
Put them around home, work or anywhere, and hide them from your live tracking link too. A ride that starts or ends outside a zone isn't trimmed.
Data export & deletion
Export your rides and account data, or delete your account, from Settings → Privacy & Data.
Deletion removes most of your data right away; a few things are kept or need an email request.

Friends-only visibility

Friends-only rides don't get a web preview; your friends see them in the app.

Saved public routes get their own share link. Recipients can open it in the app or preview on the web.
