Common questions
Why is the free tier so generous?
Navigation, safety, and basic social features shouldn't be paywalled. And OpenRydr shows no ads on any tier — the free tier is monetized by riders choosing to upgrade, never by advertising. Our paid tiers focus on what genuinely differentiates the experience — group riding, more offline storage, and advanced exports.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your account stays active on the Free tier. Your ride data stays yours. Subscriptions cancel at the end of the current billing period — no immediate cutoff.
Do you offer refunds?
Within the trial period, you're not charged. After the trial ends and payment goes through, refunds follow Apple, Google, or Stripe's standard refund policies depending on where you subscribed.
Is there a family plan?
We use the Apple and Google family sharing systems. If your platform subscription supports family sharing, family members on the same plan can access the features.
Can I subscribe on the web?
Yes. openrydr.com/subscribe accepts payment via Stripe. Sign in with your Apple or Google account first. Web subscriptions are useful if you prefer paying outside the app stores.
What's a Group Trip?
A Group Trip is a long-lived container for a multi-day ride. It has a persistent group chat, a shared photo album, and aggregate stats across all rides within the trip. Good for weekend tours and longer moto trips.
Why do you require a card for the paid trial?
It keeps trial abuse low and ensures the subscription converts cleanly if you keep it. If you want no commitment at all, start on Free — it's genuinely useful.
Will prices change?
We may adjust pricing as the product matures. Existing subscribers keep their current rate for the duration of their active subscription.
